Weekly Update
March 23, 2026
Hi ladies,
As I mentioned during our last time together, March is Women’s History Month. It is a wonderful time to remember the incredible women in the Bible who shaped history – not by chasing fame but by chasing God. I’ll send via email the piece I read that was shared with me by Joanne Cotter.
If you missed Kitty’s lesson, “GOD, why are you killing me?”, she reminded us that pain partners with joy and both are for God’s glory! Kitty’s lesson summary is available by clicking the Lesson Summary line on the main page. Or, by going to Home>Current Lesson Schedule and clicking on March 19.
Becky will lead our lesson this week. She has provided the below information including verses to read and questions for your Small Group discussion.
Holy Week and Easter are coming soon! This past Fall, we covered the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah's birth. This Thursday, we will talk about the prophecies fulfilled in the New Testament during what we call Holy Week. This lesson will be a good review of the Easter story - really, the most important story in the Bible.
Please read Isaiah Chapter 53 and 2 Peter 1:19-21 as preparation.
The questions for the small groups will be:
When Jesus was in the garden, he prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, yet not my will, but yours be done” Luke 22:42. He knew he had a terrible three days ahead of him. Luke 22:44: And in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
· What was Jesus most distressed about—being separated from God?
· What do you think was the moment he was separated?
Read John 20:27. The disciple, Thomas, wanted to see the resurrected Jesus’ wounds and touch them to assure himself.
If you had been an eyewitness to the resurrected Jesus, how would you have assured yourself that He had risen from the dead?
2 Peter 1:20-21: Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. NLT
· How does this scripture help you feel about fulfilled prophecies?
Becky and I hope to see you Thursday.
Until then, Cindy 🙏🏻💕

Love, love this Bible Study! It is an honor and a privilege to share my passion for the Bible with our group. Retired from a 12-year career in children’s ministry at a large church, I am devoted to seeing that we stay in God’s word. Fred and I have lived in the Village of the Georgia Club for five years. We have two married daughters and three grandsons. You may see me around the community at activities such as tennis, pickleball, UGA sporting events, yoga, and Mahjong.
